Enlighting Mind, Visual Perception App
Introducing Enlighting Mind, an app exploring optical effects, illusions, and contemporary art, created with experts from the Università degli Studi di Firenze, CNR National Institute of Optics, and Fondazione IDIS Città della Scienza. Blending science and art, the app deepens our understanding of vision and perception through interactive experiences.

Understanding how optical illusions deceive the human visual system remains a central challenge in cognitive science. This project examines several key domains of perception to clarify how the brain interprets complex visual information:
• Perspective and Depth Perception: Examining how changes in viewpoint affect our perception of three-dimensional spaces.
• Motion Illusions: Understanding how static images can appear to move, revealing the brain’s role in interpreting motion.
• Face Recognition and Inversion: Investigating why the brain struggles to recognize inverted facial features.
Optical illusions expose how the brain interprets and misinterprets reality.
They reveal complexities in depth, motion, and face perception.
